Role: Customs Administrator Reports to: Customs Manager Working pattern: 9am 5pm Monday-Friday, with 1 in 3 weekends (days off in lieu). Some flexibility required. Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 (commensurate with experience) Contract: Full-time (6 month probation period) At MM Freight, we provide fast, efficient and reliable transport of chilled, frozen and ambient goods across the UK, ROI and Europe. As a Customs Administrator, you will be responsible for the accurate processing of import and export documentation, ensuring all customs declarations are completed in line with current regulations. You will deliver a high standard of compliance while providing excellent customer service and responding to inbound queries in a timely and professional manner. This is an office-based role in our Lurgan depot, with one weekend in three required (two days off in lieu). Some flexibility with start and finish times may be required in order to meet customer requirements. Key Responsibilities Maintaining clear, effective and timely communication with customers and stakeholders by managing a shared inbox Processing declarations and relevant import/export documentation using dedicated customs software Monitoring compliance and accuracy of information across customs processes Assisting transport administrators with shipping bookings and management where required Using our Transport Management System to extract, update and monitor information on individual journeys Staying up-to-date with ongoing legislative and regulatory developments relevant to the role Collaborating with the transport planning team where required to ensure deadlines are met to a high standard of accuracy Any other ad-hoc administrative and reporting duties as required About you Essential criteria: Previous experience in an administrative role Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Able to demonstrate a high level of customer care Excellent verbal and written communication Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage own workload Strong problem-solving skills and ability to take initiative Proficiency in MS Office Available to work 1 in 3 weekends (with days off in lieu) Desirable criteria: Previous experience in transport or logistics Previous experience using Transport Management Systems or other specialist data processing software What we offer A busy, supportive environment with full training offered Opportunities for progression in your logistics and transport career with a growing company Company healthcare scheme This position is available for immediate start.
