Abbots Care is an award-winning domiciliary care company in Hertfordshire with a CQC rating of outstanding. Our community-based care assistants provide care to our clients within their own homes to help them remain as independent as possible. We are looking for kind, patient and reliable individuals to provide one-to-one support to our client in her 50’s who is living with Multiple Sclerosis. She lives in Watford with her daughter and requires the support of carers on a 24-hour basis. About the Role: You will be supporting a woman who experiences mobility challenges and fatigue due to MS. She values her privacy, independence and a calm respectful environment. Your role will include a mix of personal care, domestic tasks and companionship which will help support her daughter in the everyday care. The working patterns are: 8am-8pm – Day Shift 8pm-8am – Waking night shift We have hourly rates of £13.00 per hour weekdays and £16.00 per hour weekends on a 0-hour contract, as a minimum you are required to work alternate weekends. Responsibilities will include: Assisting with personal care and catheter care Mobility support including bed care and repositioning using a hoist Supporting with medication and peg feeding Light household duties (laundry, tidying, meal preparation) Providing companionship and emotional support to our client and her daughter Encouraging and enabling independence wherever possible About You: We are looking for someone who is: Peg feed and catheter care experience Compassionate, respectful and trustworthy Reliable and punctual Comfortable with personal care duties including personal care using catheter Physically able to assist with mobility A good communicator as our client is non - verbal Experienced in care or willing to learn – MS experience is a bonus, but not essential Full UK driving licence is desired but not required What We Offer: There are so many reasons to join our team, but these are our top five: Feeling of reward: There is no better feeling than knowing you have made a difference to someone’s day, week or even month.
