What's involved with this role: JOB TITLE: Senior Finance Analyst/ Accountant REF: Brent 5279622 Pay rate: £34.27 per hour PAYE Contract Type: Temporary, Anticipated 6 to 7 months Working Arrangement: Hybrid working, Candidates will be required to work at the office for 3 days per week. In order to apply for this role you will ideally be a CCAB-qualified accountant, with experience of providing financial advice and leadership in a large and complex organisation, preferably a local authority. The role: On behalf of a local council, we are seeking a Senior Finance Analyst to serve as a Business Partner for the Council’s subsidiary housing companies which were established to reduce homelessness and provide affordable, good quality homes in the local area. In the role as a Senior Finance Analyst within the housing companies finance team you will be responsible for delivering timely and high quality business planning and financial reporting. You will report into the relevant Head of Finance and provide officers and senior stakeholders with high level professional advice and make a positive contribution to the delivery of the service. Key Responsibilities: Regular financial reporting and analysis. Conducting formal investment appraisals to assess the financial viability of future development opportunities. Providing strategic financial advice to senior management and the company boards. Exploring and negotiating funding for capital acquisitions from the shareholder or other stakeholders. Developing financial models and projections, including the 30-year business plan, to support decision-making. Ensuring compliance with relevant statutory financial reporting standards What the client is looking for: A CCAB-qualified accountant is desirable Experience of providing financial advice and leadership in a large and complex organisation, working with a high degree of professional independence and integrity Experience of advising on managing all aspects of large and complex budgets, delivering significant improvements as a result Experience of preparing accounting statements and statutory statistical returns Experience of contracting for services, providing financial and commercial advice to inform procurement strategy and negotiations.
