Early Years Group Leader - Summer - Ware, Hertfordshire
Hours of work: 08:30 - 17:30
Salary: £421.52 - £628.71 per week, depending on age, experience, and qualifications.
(Contracts for February Half Term will be issued at 2023 wage levels; 2024 wage levels from 1st April.)
Report to: Early Years Manager, Camp Manager, Area Manager, and Central Office

Early Years Group Leader Duties
* Implement the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
* Assist in setting up and maintaining an inviting, tidy base room with all equipment properly stored.
* Follow policies and procedures to ensure a fun, safe environment for children.
* Adhere to the activity timetable to deliver a variety of sessions as promised.
* Collaborate with staff to deliver activities.
* Act as the children's Key Worker, managing communication about their experiences.
* Ensure children's needs are met through active supervision, including during breaks and lunch.
* Use resources to plan and deliver age-appropriate activities with enthusiasm.
* Encourage participation, following OFSTED guidelines.
* Get to know children individually and incorporate their interests into activities.
* Take responsibility for welfare and safeguarding.
* Ensure safe use of equipment during sessions.
* Facilitate development through Explore and Play sessions.
Requirements
* Working towards or holding a relevant childcare qualification.
* Knowledge and experience with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
* At least 18 years old by the contract start date.
* Eligible to work in the UK.
* Provide satisfactory references.
* Enthusiastic, caring, organized, with excellent communication skills and initiative.
* Ability to adapt to challenges in a childcare setting.
* Obtain an enhanced DBS check or have an existing one on the Update Service.
* Attend a Virtual Assessment Event if new to Barracudas.
* Complete online training annually.
* Attend an induction training day before camp opens.
* Assist with pack-up at the end of camp.
Additional Responsibilities
* Follow health and safety protocols diligently.
* Organize activities suitable for children's qualifications and skills.
* Encourage participation in new activities.
* Maintain children's safety, behavior, and well-being, respecting individual needs.
* Follow camp systems for registration, collection, and safety guidelines.
* Promote a healthy lifestyle and good hygiene as a positive role model.
* Report concerns about child protection to senior staff or designated persons.
* Make reasonable adjustments for children with additional needs.
* Support delivery of Skills Builder sessions if available.
* Support swimming sessions, bringing swimwear; a spare T-shirt will be provided.
* Perform other duties as required within the organization.
