The Student Success Officer (SSO) is responsible for supporting students' development, engagement, and progression by providing targeted one-to-one guidance, proactive attendance monitoring, and facilitating developmental workshops. The role is key to ensuring students build the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to succeed both at college and in their future aspirations.
The Student Success Officer (SSO) will play a vital role in supporting and guiding a student’s progress throughout their college journey to ensure they are focused upon fulfilling their full potential both in the short term whilst at college but also in their future.
The SSO will work with a caseload of learners to manage their attendance and work ‘one to one’ with them to set clear targets for achievement and improvement. Alongside monitoring attendance and target setting the SSO will facilitate workshop tutorial sessions which will support learners in developing their understanding of the wider world, focusing upon British Values, Prevent, Resilience and Next Steps. The Student Support Officer will play a key role in supporting a learner whilst they are undertaking their studies at college but also through one-to-one work will enable them to think clearly and ambitiously about next steps.
