The Role We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and forward-thinking ICT / Computing Teacher to join our well-established department. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and challenging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 for a suitably experienced candidate. You will be responsible for delivering a broad and balanced curriculum that may include: Digital literacy and e-safety Programming (e.g., Python or similar languages) Computer systems and architecture Cybersecurity principles Data representation and databases Creative media and web development GCSE Computer Science and/or vocational ICT qualifications The role offers the opportunity to contribute to curriculum design, departmental strategy, and the integration of technology across other subject areas. Key Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that meet the needs of all learners Differentiate effectively to support students of varying abilities, including SEND and high-attaining pupils Use assessment data to monitor progress and implement targeted interventions Prepare students for GCSE and/or vocational examinations with a track record of strong outcomes Maintain a safe, stimulating, and well-managed classroom environment Contribute to departmental meetings, moderation, and curriculum development Engage with parents/carers regarding student progress and attainment Support enrichment opportunities such as coding clubs, robotics teams, digital media projects, or STEM events Fulfil wider professional responsibilities in line with Teachers' Standards The Ideal Candidate Will Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) A degree in ICT, Computing, Computer Science, or a related discipline Strong subject knowledge and awareness of current technological developments Experience teaching GCSE Computer Science and/or ICT (desirable but not essential for ECTs) The ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities Excellent classroom management skills Strong organisational and communication skills A commitment to continuous professional development A genuine passion for preparing young people for careers in the digital sector Early Career Teachers (ECTs) We warmly welcome applications from ECTs.
