Quality Assurance Engineer - Luton, Bedfordshire
As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will ensure that the final product observes the company's quality standards. You will be responsible for developing and implementing inspection activities, detecting and resolving problems, and delivering satisfactory outcomes.
The main duties will include:
1. Create, prepare, and implement the Inspection Test Plan (ITP) and relevant directives, procedures, and instructions.
2. Develop and manage quality control and assurance procedures, ensuring contract requirements are met.
3. Review enquiry documents and prepare summary QA/QC documentation for quotation submissions.
4. Check and amend purchase texts to meet requirements.
5. Prepare and maintain product specifications and process procedures, including monitoring approval records (e.g., in the Agility System).
6. Control contract quality plans and monitor live Quality Plans (QPs) for daily status.
7. Manage Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) and Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).
8. Perform certificate checks and sign-offs against standards and purchase orders.
9. Monitor subcontractor deliveries, progress, compliance, and due dates.
10. Maintain and control weld and welder qualifications where applicable.
11. Ensure changes in specifications are reflected according to Engineering Managers' requirements.
12. Monitor and incorporate changes to QA compliance, including relevant design codes (e.g., ASME, API).
13. Provide quality support to Sales, Operations, Production Engineering, Manufacturing, and Testing teams.
14. Participate or lead quality improvement projects.
15. Participate in supplier and internal/external QA audits.
16. Check material certifications against standards.
17. Approve suppliers' ITPs and procedures.
18. Review, amend, or create HT procedures.
Requirements:
* Experience in a QAE role.
* Knowledge of Aerospace Specifications OR MoD/BAE/Rolls Royce Specifications.
* UK Passport Holder.
* Knowledge of PCN/SNT.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* Ability to prove right to work in the UK.
