Our service relies on a well-managed museum collection which is cared for to professional standards, better understood and accessible to our communities. Our Collections and Exhibitions Manager will have an eye for detail to ensure our collections are properly documented and care for with robust policies, plans and procedures. Managing a dynamic collections team, they motivate and inspire, setting achievable team priorities and monitoring progress. As part of the leadership team, our Collections and Exhibitions Manager will foster agile working across teams to ensure collections are accessible and relevant.
A creative collaborator, our Collections and Exhibitions Manager will oversee an ambitious programme of temporary exhibitions and associated creative programme. We are looking for an excellent communicator who will bring together different teams, artists, community collaborators and partners to explore thought-provoking Rotherham stories. Our Collections and Exhibitions Manager will also be involved in consultation and development of permanent galleries at Clifton Park Museum.
The Community Engagement Manager will:
* Be responsible for the effective management of the Rotherham Collection and the York and Lancaster Regimental Collection adhering to policies, procedures and profession accreditation standards.
* Develop and implement collections management policies, plans and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
* Oversee the physical care of the collection, including storage, preservation, and documentation, in accordance with accreditation standards.
* Lead on the development and delivery of a programme of high-quality and thought-provoking temporary exhibitions and associated creative programmes in collaboration with creatives, communities and partners.

Until 31st March 2026 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a monthly deduction from each pay period over the full financial year.
