The Role
As an Account Manager at ALS, you’ll play a key role in managing and expanding our valued client partnerships. You’ll act as the primary contact for our clients, ensuring they receive exceptional service and support while identifying new opportunities to enhance collaboration and deliver sustainable business growth. This is a dynamic and rewarding opportunity for someone with strong relationship‑building skills and a passion for environmental services, innovation, and commercial success.
The Day to Day
* Build and maintain long‑term, trusted relationships with key clients and projects.
* Act as the main point of contact, ensuring clear communication and swift issue resolution.
* Conduct regular client reviews and site visits to ensure satisfaction and alignment.
* Identify opportunities to expand services and increase loyalty within existing accounts.
* Lead engagement on significant client projects, ensuring a seamless experience.
* Proactively share new service offerings and innovations to support evolving client needs.
* Coordinate technical support and provide guidance on new services and online tools.
* Represent ALS at industry events, building networks and staying ahead of market trends.
* Share client and market insights with internal teams to support innovation and growth.
The Essentials
* Proven experience in account management or a client‑facing commercial role, ideally within the environmental services or laboratory testing sector (though not essential).
* A scientific or technical background (e.g., chemistry, microbiology) would be advantageous.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.
* Strong relationship‑building and collaboration skills across teams and departments.
* Confident presenter with solid negotiation and persuasion abilities.
* Highly organised, able to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
* Commercially aware, self‑motivated, and capable of working independently.
* Competent in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
* Willingness to travel and attend client sites and industry events as required.
