National Grid is hiring a number of HVDC & FACTS System Study Engineer from Associate to Senior/Lead- This position is based from our Warwick office however we offer flexible hybrid working options.
As a HVDC & FACTS System Study Engineer you'll lead the design of the electricity transmission system, ensuring optimum system design issues on NGET's transmission network. Working closely with suppliers, supporting compliance assessments to ensure that they can connect to the transmission network.
You'll be involved in new technologies (HVDC and FACTS) discussions and specifications including innovation projects related to renewables and new technologies.
You'll contribute to a variety of HVDC and FACTS modelling and studies, including dynamic analysis, fault analysis, RMS and EMT simulations, as well as dynamic performance studies (DPS) and control interaction assessments to ensure compliance with all relevant requirements. Your role will also involve safeguarding the integrity and reliability of the network for HVDC and FACTS connections, ensuring continued operability and safety.
A competitive salary between £47,000 - £75,000 dependent on capability and level
