Job Purpose The Working Denbighshire is part of The Councils approach to developing and building resilient communities in Denbighshire with a sharpened focus on tackling poverty through employability. Placement Officers will provide a flexible, high quality service, working in partnership with CFW, CFW, ADTRAC,and other employability projects as part of an integrated ?Working Denbighshire? approach. Placement Officers will be required to provide enhanced employment focused support to participants whilst on their work placement. PlacementOfficerswillprovide1-1supporttoacaseloadofparticipants(aged16andover) identified as being eligible to receive support under the Working Denbighshire service. Throughapersoncenteredandstrengthsbasedapproachtheplacementofficerwillsupport citizens during their placement. They will be responsible for mentoring and coaching participants, empowering and motivating them to identify and take practical steps to overcome barriers preventing them taking up identified training and employment opportunities as part of the individual?s journey to secure sustainable employment or to progress whilst in work, and in the long term lift them out of poverty. Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities Ensure placements are meaningful and increase future chances of work.Work within the Employer Engagement Team in conjunction with the other teams that sit within the wider Working Denbighshire Framework towards the development, implementation and ongoing operations, complementing and not duplicatingexisting provision, providing a continuum of support and progression routes enabling the participant to make positive steps towards employment. Responsible for supporting an allocated caseload of participants (aged 16 and over) to develop new skills that will help them move into sustained employment after they havecompleted theirPlacement.PlacementSupportOfficerswillrequireavariety of techniques, including individual coaching and personal support building on positive relationships and developing effective processes to identify and overcome barriers. Responsibleforhelpingparticipantstorealiseandimprovetheirexistingskills,providing opportunities to try new tasks, identification of learning and development needs and opportunities, and long term employability skills such as CV development, mentoring, and interview techniques. Responsibleforexploringwhat?simportanttotheindividualduringtheirplacementand developingastrength-basedpersonalprofileandoutcomefocusedgoalsandactions using the tools and systems provided.Support the individual to achieve their goals during their placement and encourage them to achieve their goals by taking responsibility for their own engagement and development. Completeriskassessmentsandriskmanagementplansasappropriateincollaboration with other employability projects that sit within the Working Denbighshire Framework. Carry out formal reviews which focuson the participant; listento and understand their thoughts,needsandaspirationsandprovidethemwithdedicatedtimeandresources to focus on this.Each review will be used to identify areas of concern and opportunities to learn.Review progress against each goal using the systems provided and support and capture ongoing reflection on progress and/or barriers to progress and the development of skills in the workplace. Providecasestudiestopromotetheimpact oftheprogrammeofsupportprovided. The Placement Officer will maintain contact with the employer to ensure that the placementissuccessfulandthatanyissuesareresolvedprovidinghelpandadviceas requiredbytheemployer.TheywillworkcloselywiththeEmploymentCoordinatorsto gainsupportavailabletokeepparticipantsinsustainedemploymentandlookforlongterm employment including career advice so that participants are enabled to carry out job search independently (sustainable skills) to help them secure longer term employment at the end of their placement. Supporttoaccessongoingemployabilitysupporttofurthertheirskills/qualificationsand findsustainableemploymentshouldtheirplacementnotresultinemployment. Provide regular performance management information, reports and other monitoring requirementsusingthetoolsandsystemsprovidedtoensureWorkingDenbighshirehas the data required to report to the Corporate Board. Followprescribedfilinganddataaccuracytoensuretheconfidentialityofparticipant information is effectively protected and handled, within locally agreed Information Sharing Protocols and a robust audit trail for internal and external review maintaining participants? files and data (paper and database) and provide regular progress reports to the line manager. Work within the provisions of DCC policies ensuring full compliance with financial regulations, including abiding by and implementing DCC Equal Opportunities policy, Health and Safety regulations, all Lone Working and Safeguarding procedures in all aspects of project delivery. Experience of providing support and mentoring either in an employment based or similar intensive support service ensuring all activities operate in accordance with Equal Opportunities. Experience of working with citizens who are experiencing poverty and barriers to employment.The post holder will be non-judgemental and demonstrate empathy, understanding and confidentiality. Experience of strengths based assessment and development of action plans and their implementation for citizens. Experience of joint working with statutory, voluntary and private agencies and an understandingofworkingwithinconfidentiality anddataprotectionpolicies andregulation. Special Working Conditions The post holder will have a nominated work base, however the post holder would be expected to work in a flexible and agile way, particularly during the Covid pandemic,acrossDenbighshirewhichwillincludehomeandloneworkingwhilstengaging with hard to reach individuals.The post holder may be required to work some evenings / weekends.
