Deanston Cooper’s client, a steel fabrication company, based in Kirkcaldy are currently recruiting for a detail-oriented Estimator. This role will involve estimating costs for fabrication, and welding projects, with a focus on full assembly fabrication, material take-offs, and tender submissions. As Estimator your duties will include: Reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates. Preparing material take-offs, including proprietary items, based on project drawings and specifications. Creating and submitting tender returns, including final offer letters using standard templates. Pricing site installation work, considering material costs, labour, and overheads. Collaborating with customers and internal teams to clarify project requirements and communicate pricing details. Maintaining and updating pricing documentation and spreadsheets using Excel and Word. Conducting site visits to assess project scope and gather relevant information for pricing. Supporting the project team in understanding cost structures and project expectations.
