Bowbrook House School is an award winning, independent all-through school catering to pupils aged 3½ to 16 years. We pride ourselves on our family-orientated ethos, small class sizes and commitment to nurturing every child’s potential. With approximately 200 pupils on roll we are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Teacher of Religious Studies/Humanities. The ability to offer Health & Social Care at KS4 would be a considerable advantage. Interviews will be held on 25th/26th June.
The post holder will teach across Years 7–11, building on our rising GCSE uptake and will play a key role in engaging and enthusing students about the subject.
Key Responsibilities:
To deliver Religious Studies/Humanities at KS3 and AQA RS at KS4 to GCSE level. The post holder is also required to contribute to the school’s PSHCCE programme and/or KS3 Humanities.
Person Specification:
1. a qualified teacher or hold an equivalent teaching qualification.
2. Provide excellent classroom practice and behaviour management
3. Have a good understanding of curriculum developments in their specific subject.
4. Be confident in the use of standard computer packages and how these can be used to enhance student learning.
5. a strong communicator with the ability to embrace change, motivate colleagues and build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
6. able to recognise, value and support the delivery of opportunities which extend beyond the confines of classroom delivery and seek to enrich and add value to the students experience & learning.
