We are currently looking
for Staff Nurses with experience in Ophthalmology, particularly in Outpatient or Pre-Operative care. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality eye care.
1. Location: South Bristol Hospital (main base of work)
2. Experience: Ophthalmology/Outpatient/Pre-op nursing experience preferred
3. Training: Full training will be provided

This role encompasses both Outpatient Cataract Clinic and One-stop Preop Assessment and the successful candidate will be expected to be able to work covering both areas.
It will include:
Assessment of patients medical history including medication and underlying health issues.
Clinical Assessments of visual acuity, vital signs, and visual measurements such as biometry
Patient information and informed consent support
Administration of prescribed ophthalmic medications
Accurate and timely nursing documentation in compliance with NMC standards, and support with preparation of medical notes
Collaboration with ophthalmologists, technicians, theatre teams and administrative staff.
Contribute to planning meetings and preoperative case discussions to facilitate the safe coordination of surgical lists
