You are an experienced manager looking for a new challenge, you will have to have strong leadership skills, excellent interpersonal skills, empathy and an understanding of quality and innovation in order to lead the team at a time of immense change.
The women and children’s service is located on 4 sites Aberdeen Maternity Hospital (AMH), Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital (RACH), Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI) and Dr Gray’s (DGH). The service across the 4 sites has 3 UOM posts, one in RACH for the children’s services, one in DGH which covers women and children’s services and this post based in AMH but also covers the Breast and Gynaecology service in ARI. This post is multifaceted as it covers all women’s planned care, maternity services, fertility and neonates.
As the new manager of the service you will have to develop an understanding of the service needs across NHS Grampian, how the Moray Maternity Services Project will impact on Aberdeen service’s, how the 3rd level tertiary Neonatal service will alter the course of care delivered in AMH and how the opening of the new Baird Family Hospital will enable redesign of workforce to occur. You will be joining an experienced team of clinicians and managers all of whom will be there to work with you and offer support as you develop into this role.
