Overview
We are looking for an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Childrens Autism and ADHD Assessment Service (CAAAS) in Gloucestershire. This is a permanent post, part-time for 22.5 hours a week.
CAAAS is a multi-disciplinary team offering assessments for Autism and ADHD for children in Gloucestershire. The service is relatively new and has been coproduced with families and developed in line with the NHS 10 year plan. The role includes some limited post-diagnostic support to families in relation to sensory processing, activities of daily living and motor skill differences.
Main responsibilities
* Work with the Band 7 OT to complete functional assessments, create personalised plans for families and support them to implement these.
* Complete sensory-based work, using the sensory rooms at Evergreen House or Acorn House.
* Complete Movement ABC assessments as part of DCD assessment.
* Co-facilitate group-based support for families.
* Support as part of the assessment team for children with clear needs.
* Work closely with the MDT to support understanding of the development of functional skills and sensory differences.
Qualifications, training and experience
Essential
* Professional Health or Social Care qualification: RNLD, RMHN, OT, MHSW.
* Evidence of formal post-registration learning.
Desirable
* Post-graduate training within a relevant CAMHS field or skill.
* Profession-specific additional qualifications (e.g., LD, nurse prescriber, DBT, CBT, AMHP, family therapy or systemic practice).
