Lancashire Educational Psychology Service is a value-driven educational psychology service (EPS) that aims to promote relational-based practice, positive change, participation, collaboration, evidence-based psychology and to develop solutions for complex problems in all our work.
We comprise of three dynamic, friendly and supportive teams of educational psychologists, who are committed to optimising outcomes for children and young people and providing support and help to those who need it. Our current service development priorities include consultation, participation and co-production, culture and diversity, relational approaches, mental health and well-being, and inclusion for vulnerable groups. We also host the annual North-West CPD Conference for Educational Psychologists.
We have invested significantly in training and development for those pursuing a career in educational psychology and are recruiting a new assistant educational psychologist to work across Lancashire.
We anticipate having 3 vacancies for Assistant Educational Psychologist posts (starting 01/09/2025; further info available on request/at interview). The position is fixed-term for two years from the start date, with no renewal expected. It is expected that Assistant Educational Psychologists in Lancashire EPS will apply for postgraduate training in educational psychology, with support provided from within the service.
We welcome applications from enthusiastic and creative individuals who:
* Hold a psychology degree (2:1 or above), have completed an approved conversion course, or a Master's degree, and are eligible for the British Psychological Society (BPS) Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC). The qualification granting GBC must be obtained before the application deadline.
* Have at least one year's full-time (or equivalent part-time) experience working with children and young people in educational, health, social care, youth justice, childcare, or community settings. This can include paid employment or voluntary experience, with specific minimum durations specified.
NB: To be considered, applicants must include a supporting statement demonstrating how they meet the person specification, especially how they have applied psychology in practice.
