Summary

Park Farm is a small, smartly run riding school for children aged 4-17 years. Anne and Monique are looking for a new equine apprentice to join their team, plenty of riding and teaching (including BHS stages) for the right candidate.

Wage

£6,656 a year

Wage will dependent on age and to be discussed with the employer ,

Equine groom (level 2)

Hours
Hours are starting at 16 per week to include 1 weekend half day. Hours can be increased if agreed with employer after a probationary period.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.


What you'll do at work

All general yard duties to include :

* Mucking out/ keeping yard clean and tidy
* Grooming / picking out feet
* Tacking up
* Feeding/ filling haynets
* Filling water containers
* Exercising ponies and small horses
* Training through the BHS stages to teach children to ride

Training

Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

Training schedule

All training will be provided on site during your paid working hours. Your day to day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination of online and in person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training Trainer Coach.


Requirements


Desirable qualifications

GCSE in:

* English (grade 4)
* Maths (grade 4)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
