We have an incredible new opportunity for a Bank Learning Support Assistant to join Landau. Key responsibilities will include:

· Supporting and mentoring learners in classrooms, workshops, and even out in the community

·

· Helping tutors adapt lessons and activities so that every learner can achieve and feel confident

·

· Working 1-to-1 or in small groups to help learners overcome challenges and barriers to learning

·

· Coming up with creative strategies to engage learners and keep sessions fun and inclusive

·

· Assisting with learner portfolios, assessments and progress reviews

·

· Encouraging positive behaviour, teamwork and confidence building

·

· Providing pastoral support, being a trusted and approachable person learners can turn to

·

· Helping learners set and achieve personal goals, preparing them for exams, next steps, and future opportunities

·

· Supporting with work experience placements and enrichment activities that prepare learners for life beyond the classroom

·

· Assist with preparation for exams and to take part in invigilation, supervision and support during exams

·

· Acting as a key worker for identified learners – cheering them on, celebrating their progress and helping them reach their potential

Person specification

Job title: Learning Support Assistant

SKILLS AND CORE COMPETENCIES

Technical competency (qualifications and training)

· A relevant qualification such as Teaching Assistant, AET, or equivalent – giving you the skills to confidently support learners. (Essential)

· Maths and English at Level 2 minimum – helping you guide learners and support their progress with confidence. (Essential)

Experience

· Experience supporting learners in a similar role – whether in classrooms, workshops, or community settings – and loving every minute of it (Essential)

· Experience working with learners with SEND, helping them overcome barriers and achieve their goals. (Essential)

· Experience supporting learners with anxiety, low confidence, or who face social or educational disadvantages. (Desirable)

· Experience meeting the needs of learners with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). (Desirable)

· Experience planning, preparing, or adapting resources and activities to make learning accessible, engaging, and fun. (Desirable)

· Skills and Attributes

· Creative, innovative, and full of ideas for practical approaches that spark curiosity and motivation in learners. (Essential)

· Confident with IT and able to manage administrative and reporting tasks efficiently. (Essential)

· Strong organisational skills, reliable, and excellent at time-keeping – keeping everything running smoothly. (Essential)

· Able to build trust and strong relationships with post-16 learners, helping them feel supported and inspired. (Essential)

· Resilient, positive, and a true team player, ready to tackle challenges with a smile. (Essential)

· Able to plan, risk assess, and supervise off-site activities such as work experience placements. (Essential)

Hours: As and when required

Salary: £15.75-£21 per hour(Depending on Experience)

Our Study Programme works on a Term Time Only schedule working 39 weeks per year
