Sells sporting goods, such as hunting and fishing equipment, by performing the following duties.

* This position requires the ability to safely handle firearms and adhere to all company, state, and federal firearms regulations. You must provide legendary customer service by greeting, consulting, and assisting customers in finding merchandise and making buying decisions.
* Process firearms transactions efficiently, in accordance with all internal policies, procedures, and applicable law. This includes initiating all 4473 forms with customers and conducting final checks of all relevant forms before transferring a firearm.
* Legally acquire and dispose of firearms in compliance with ATF, state, and local laws, including completing required forms, conducting background checks, and ensuring compliance with waiting periods and regulations.
* Assist with receiving firearms, completing all necessary forms accurately, performing firearms audits, mounting optics, and preparing firearms for retail sale.
* Maintain thorough product knowledge of C-A-L Ranch Stores products to assist customers in making informed purchasing decisions, including evaluating customer needs and making appropriate recommendations.
* Advise customers on equipment suitable for specific purposes, such as fishing poles or firearms, and explain care instructions and regulations related to fish and game laws.
* Sell fish and game licenses and handle related paperwork.
* Effectively communicate the C-A-L Ranch Credit Card Program to customers.
* Maintain visual standards through up-keep and maintenance, including re-stocking, re-merchandising, and cleaning fixtures.
* Take inventory, operate computer systems for inventory management, and balance cash drawers.
* Requisition merchandise from stockroom, research availability using databases, and process orders.
* Complete weekly firearm audits.
* Assist in training new employees and other associates.
* Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; assist with heavier lifting using tools and assistance.
* Watch safety videos and perform duties in accordance with safety training.
* Maintain regular and predictable attendance at the store, with work schedules planned weekly.
* Pass a thorough background check and be at least 18 years old to sell or handle firearms.
* Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
