Are you an exceptionally committed person who is looking for a role with profound purpose, assisting students with diverse Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

Do you have a talent for providing a calm, predictable, and positive environment, and the inner strength to support young people through significant social, emotional, and academic hurdles?

Would you like to join a highly respected special school team in Soham, where you will play a fundamental role in helping every student unlock their personal best?

If you seek a career where your compassion and care actively transform lives every single day, we encourage you to submit your application immediately!

The Role: Dedicated Support in Soham

This is a superb opening for an enthusiastic and dependable SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) / Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a well-established specialist SEN provision serving the Soham community.

Your position is critical to the delivery of outstanding, student-specific education. You will deliver essential support, often one-on-one or in small groups, to pupils with a spectrum of complex needs, potentially including Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), profound learning difficulties, and significant communication challenges. Your efforts will be key to fostering a secure, engaging, and fully inclusive learning experience.

Your Core Responsibilities
* Offer essential, individualised assistance, enabling students to access differentiated curriculum content, manage sensory input, and participate fully in the school day.
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external specialists (e.g., therapists) to adapt teaching materials, organise specialised tasks, and ensure the learning space is tailored for physical and sensory accessibility.
* Implement bespoke communication and emotional regulation strategies as documented in pupils' Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), which may involve the use of specialist communication aids.
* Act as a stable and reliable source of emotional support, skillfully employing calming techniques and encouraging constructive communication during times of distress.
* Contribute actively to the ongoing assessment and accurate documentation of student engagement, learning progress, and overall well-being.
* Provide support with personal care, mealtimes, and mobility as needed, always performing these duties with the highest degree of dignity, sensitivity, and professional integrity.
Key Attributes We Seek
* Demonstrated previous experience assisting children or young adults, with experience in a specialist SEN setting or with pupils with complex needs being highly desirable.
* A naturally calm, genuinely compassionate, and highly adaptable nature, with a clear passion for the special education sector.
* The capacity to quickly establish strong, trusting, and professional bonds with students, their families, and the wider staff team.
* Excellent skills in observation, communication, and teamwork, particularly in understanding and responding to non-verbal cues.
* An up-to-date Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or the willingness to obtain one promptly).
Benefits of Joining Us
* A competitive and consistent daily salary of £90 - £95.
* The opportunity to work in a supportive, specialist school environment in Soham, with a strong focus on professional development and staff welfare.
* Access to relevant Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and training specific to the needs of the student body (e.g., safeguarding, behavioural strategies).
* A profoundly rewarding career path that offers deep daily satisfaction by directly enhancing the educational outcomes and quality of life for vulnerable children.
* Our generous £300 Refer A Friend scheme (terms and conditions apply).
