Role: Court of Protection Paralegal

About the Role
We are seeking an Court of Protection Paralegal to join our specialist team. This is an exciting opportunity for a knowledgeable and detail-oriented professional with experience in public law, Court of Protection proceedings, or capacity and deputyship work to make a real impact in supporting vulnerable clients.
The successful candidate will assist in delivering high-quality casework and providing robust support to solicitors and clients, managing sensitive matters with discretion and empathy.
Key Responsibilities
* Assisting solicitors with all aspects of Court of Protection work
* Drafting applications, statements, orders, and correspondence
* Preparing court bundles and managing case documentation
* Liaising with clients, deputies, healthcare professionals, and the Court of Protection
* Conducting legal research and preparing case summaries
* Maintaining accurate case records and diary management
* Supporting the administration of deputyship cases, including financial record keeping
About You
* Minimum of 6 months experience working in Court of Protection or capacity/deputyship work
* Strong knowledge of the Court of Protection Rules and relevant legislation
* Excellent legal drafting, organisational, and communication skills
* Experience managing sensitive and complex cases with confidentiality
* Proficient in case management systems and Microsoft Office
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
Desirable
* Experience in both public and private law Court of Protection cases
* Knowledge of mental capacity assessments
* LPC / SQE qualification or working towards solicitor qualification
