Due to our continuing success, Ridge has an opportunity for a Sustainability Consultant to join our UK wide Building Performance Team. The successful candidate will have a real desire to learn, grow and forge a long-term career within an award-winning multi-discipline consultancy.
This role can be based at either our Bristol, London or Oxford office.
The team provide a range of sustainability services direct to client organisations, external consultant teams, contractors, as well as to our own Ridge multi-disciplinary project teams. You will be involved in developing, governing and delivering building performance strategies from inception, through to hand over for buildings and property portfolios.
You will specialise in building performance (energy, carbon and comfort) appraisals and digital modelling using a variety of software, most notably IESve and OneClick LCA.
You will play a key part in the continued growth of the team that spans over a variety of sectors including (but not limited to): schools, university buildings, science and technology, offices, industrial, leisure centres and hospitals.
Role and Responsibilities
Prepare, present and deliver: Building performance appraisals (energy, carbon & comfort) across existing and new-build properties
Development of digital models and bespoke assessment tools
Assist with producing technical briefing notes and reports
Assist project stakeholders with wider issues relating to sustainability
Opportunity to support the senior leadership team with team resourcing, knowledge sharing and the production of fee proposals, where required.
Experience and Skills Required
Experience in IESve software, preferably including experience in the use of the ApacheHVAC module but this is not essential.
Experience undertaking whole life carbon assessments using OneClick LCA.
Able to produce concise verbal and written reports to a good standard of English
Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Working knowledge of the integration of building physics scopes with UK Building Regulations Part L & Part O, planning policy and BREEAM.
