Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Brentwood for a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Specialist.

Role summary
Own and grow the company's online presence and inbound demand, primarily through paid search (PPC), SEO, and AEO/GEO. You'll plan, execute, and optimise search and content strategies to increase qualified traffic, leads, and revenue while ensuring the brand is discoverable across both traditional search engines and AI-driven discovery experiences.

Key outcomes
* Increased qualified organic traffic and improved rankings for priority keywords/topics
* Improved paid search efficiency (lower CPA / higher ROAS) and scalable acquisition
* Stronger visibility in AI/answer surfaces (featured snippets, "People also ask", AI overviews, assistants, local pack where relevant)
* Clear measurement and reporting tying activity to pipeline/revenue and business goals
* A maintained, prioritised search/content roadmap aligned to commercial priorities

Core responsibilities
Paid search
* Manage and optimise campaigns (e.g., Google Ads / Microsoft Ads): structure, keywords, match types, audiences, bidding, budgets
* Write/test ad copy and build landing page testing plans (CRO collaboration)
* Own ongoing optimisation: search terms, negatives, quality score, ad extensions/assets
* Plan and execute experiments (incrementality tests, new campaign types, betas and features, geo targeting)

SEO
* Technical SEO audits and prioritised fixes (crawlability, indexing, site speed, structured data, internal linking)
* Keyword research and topic clustering tied to customer intent and product/service priorities
* On-page optimisation: metadata, headings, content structure, UX signals
* Support link acquisition / digital PR opportunities and partner backlink strategy (as appropriate)

AEO / GEO
* Optimise content for "answer-first" formats: concise summaries, FAQ blocks, entity clarity, citations, and structured data
* Create/refresh content designed to perform in AI summaries and assistants (buyer questions, comparisons, "best for" pages, troubleshooting, definitions)
* Improve brand/entity signals (consistent naming, schema, author/about pages, credibility markers)
* Monitor AI visibility and referral patterns; adapt strategy as platforms evolve

Required skills & experience
* Proven experience managing paid search and SEO end-to-end
* Hands-on experience with tools: Google Ads, GA4, Google Search Console, GTM; SEO tools (e.g., Ahrefs/SEMrush/Screaming Frog)
* Strong understanding of search intent, landing page optimisation, and conversion principles
* Comfortable working with data: performance analysis, excel, forecasting, testing and experimentation

Salary
£40-45k directorship options.

Qualifications
Proficient in keyword research and implementing on-page SEO strategies.
Experience conducting SEO audits to identify issues and recommend solutions.
Skilled in effective link-building strategies and techniques.
Strong knowledge of web analytics tools and data analysis capabilities.
Understanding of industry best practices in search engine optimization and up-to-date with current trends.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
Experience with SEO tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs) and understanding of HTML and CSS is a plus.
