Job Introduction
We are currently seeking a dedicated and dynamic Deputy General Catering Services Manager to join our team in Shrewsbury, SY3 7AA. You will act as the primary representative for Sodexo within the catering operation, managing all catering team members, and deputising for the General Manager to ensure high-quality service delivery.
What You'll Do
* Drive innovation and continuous improvement of people, systems, processes, and services.
* Promote a ‘Best In Class’ service culture among team members.
* Present new ideas to enhance service effectiveness and efficiency.
* Collaborate with the Head Chef and General Manager to ensure student feedback is captured and acted upon.
Client relationships
* Establish rapport with clients and uphold a positive company image.
* Assist with reports and documentation required by stakeholders and clients.
* Build and maintain long-term client relationships through operational excellence.
Financial
* Support the General Manager in managing financial performance.
* Ensure efficient service delivery and regular reviews for improvement.
* Prepare budgets, forecasts, quotations, and financial reports.
* Recommend cost-saving measures.
People management
* Promote a health and safety culture, including 3 Steps to Safety.
* Manage team members’ duties, including recruitment, training, and attendance.
* Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
* Encourage employee engagement and inclusivity.
Operational and compliance
* Maintain site information in line with Sodexo procedures and legislation.
* Manage stock and equipment levels within budget.
* Work flexibly, including weekends if required.
* Ensure service delivery exceeds expectations and complies with policies.
What We're Looking For
* Food Safety Level 3 qualification and IOSH or equivalent.
* Successful track record in similar roles, preferably in a school environment.
* Leadership, motivation, and relationship-building skills.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and IT skills.
Package Description
* Starting from £43,000 per annum + Sodexo Benefits
* 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7
