Job Overview
Purpose:
TVS operate as part of Team LEIDOS in the delivery of the LCST contract – a team of defence and logistics specialists, supporting a major transformation contract providing an end-to-end supply chain service delivering commodity and inventory improvements to the UK Ministry of Defence.
We are recruiting a Business Analyst to assist the Business Intelligence team with running contractual reports, running ad-hoc reports for the wider CSS pillars and administer the Data Warehouse server. This role will be the SME in data sources and platforms for the team.
We work on a hybrid model, and this role will be required to work in the Bristol office 1 day per week. It is therefore essential that you can commute to Bristol on this basis.
Job Responsibilities
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
* Provide technical support to the Business Intelligence team.
* Maintain and develop the data warehouse and associated scripts, queries and packages.
* Manage users and associated licences on Business Intelligence platforms and the cloud.
* Document processes owned by Business Intelligence Team.
* Maintain and develop AWS instances and ad hoc SSMS Reports.
* Maintain monthly PPIM report, weekly Aged Picks report, weekly Referrals report, extract Cognos reports and maintain and develop reports SSRS.
* Deputise for BI Team Lead during periods of leave and essential meetings concerning the Data Warehouse and MI cloud data platforms.
* Develop strategies for improving business efficiencies in Data Integrity, Testing and Reporting as part of our Continuous Improvement ethos.
* Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying root cause of issues and maintaining records of resolutions undertaken/recommendations to inform future work/best practice.
* Maintain, develop, document and improve reporting tools.
* Scheduled and ad hoc report writing for the Business Intelligence Team, CSS, and other stakeholders.
* Ensure contractual MI reporting obligations are met and supported.
* Work in a collaborative manner with the Customer, CSS, Leidos and other stakeholders.
* Maintain and develop reports in DB2 along with DB2 Workbench data maintenance.
* Manage DB2 export to SSIS and legacy system ingests.
* Import External Sources for SSIS.
* Train users on Business Intelligence platforms and reports.
* Assist with TL MI activities to drive customer satisfaction.
Qualifications and Skills
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
* Advanced Excel skills
* AWS or other cloud experience
* Understanding of MOD systems and data
* Knowledge of cloud-based systems
* SQL script writing skills
* Analytical and problem-solving skills
* Good communicator with stakeholders and customers
* A degree in relevant technology field or computing is desirable but not essential.
