Advert wording – Police Support Staff – Learning Support Unit Manager (Learning Support Unit Team)
An opportunity has arisen within the Learning Support Unit, Learning & Development, South Wales Police for an experienced and competent individual with well-developed organisational skills. The successful candidate will lead a team to administer our Learning Management Systems and provide a Helpdesk first contact resolution service to our customers.
About the Team/Department you will be joining:
* The Learning Support Team are based in Bridgend, but there may be the requirement on occasions for the successful applicant to work at other locations throughout the force.
* The Learning Support Unit Team currently work between 9am-5pm (Mon-Thur), with a 4.30 finish on a Friday. However, the role offers some flexibility with respect to working patterns and Hybrid working.
* The position is for 37 hours (five days) per week.
About the role and your key responsibilities:
* Provide leadership & manage the Learning Support Unit Team
* Increasing the forces workforce capability, through monitoring and influencing improvements in skills compliance, training course attendance and efficient ways of working
* Managing Budgets, including expenditure and income
* Provide management information to support Learning Key Performance Indicators, staffing levels and costs
* Provide support to the Training Units, and continuously seeking improvements in Learning performance metrics, our systems, processes and the teams capability.
What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:
* Must have a good standard of education to at least Degree level or be able to demonstrate equivalent skills and abilities.
* Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications.
* Must display good organisational skills and be able to work on own initiative and within a team.
