A specialist secondary school in Farnham is seeking a dedicated and professional Learning Support Assistant to join its team. The school supports secondary-aged pupils with emotional and attachment needs, providing a safe, structured, and nurturing environment that enables pupils to engage with learning, develop resilience, and build positive relationships.
This role is ideal for experienced Learning Support Assistants, as well as candidates with transferable experience from childcare, care, youth work, mental health support, or other people-focused roles. Previous school experience is not essential, as full guidance and support will be provided.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing in-class and one-to-one support to secondary-aged pupils with emotional and attachment needs
* Supporting pupils to engage with learning, routines, and social interactions
* Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and other professionals to implement individualised support plans
* Contributing to a calm, safe, and consistent learning environment
Candidate requirements:
* Experience working with children or young people, or transferable skills from relevant roles
* A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
* An interest in supporting pupils with emotional and attachment needs
* Reliability, resilience, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
