FPG are recruiting for a contractor to join our client project. We are looking to hire an experienced Data Center Construction Manager for a 6 month extendable contract outside IR35).
This will be a 6 month extendable position, mostly based on site in Reading area.
Responsibilities:
* Oversee all aspects of data center construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors to plan and execute construction activities effectively.
* Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets, monitoring progress and addressing any issues or delays proactively.
* Coordinate procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with project specifications.
* Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction progress, safety compliance, and quality control.
* Manage contractor relationships, negotiate contracts, and resolve any disputes or conflicts that may arise during the construction process.
* Implement best practices and innovative solutions to optimize construction processes and minimize costs.
* Communicate project status, milestones, and risks to stakeholders, providing regular updates and recommendations as needed.
* Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and environmental standards.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management, with a focus on data center or large-scale commercial projects.
* Proven track record of successfully managing construction projects from conception to completion, meeting project objectives within budget and schedule constraints.
* Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building systems.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
* Proficiency in project management software and tools.
* Knowledge of relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
* PMP or CMIT certification is a plus.
