Our client is an established and growing construction contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its UK team, based in the Gatwick area. Working closely with a Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of projects from design stage through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead one or multiple project teams to ensure projects are delivered on programme, within budget, and in compliance with company procedures and current Health & Safety legislation.
* Support the Project Surveyor in the management and control of contract costs and variations, providing regular cost reports to senior management.
* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
* Manage and assess subcontractor performance, ensuring quality standards are met and programme targets achieved.
* Proactively manage project risks, identifying and implementing mitigation measures.
* Liaise with design teams to ensure design deliverables are issued accurately and on time.
* Maintain excellent working relationships with senior management, subcontractors, and consultants.
* Oversee planning and scheduling of works, ensuring effective sequencing and coordination.
Skills & Experience Required
* 3rd Level Qualification in Construction or a related discipline.
* 8+ years’ construction experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a Project Manager role.
* Experience working for a recognised main contractor.
* Strong commitment to Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong time management and organisational abilities.
* IT literate with proficiency in MS Office and MS Project (or similar planning software).
* Proven experience delivering large-scale Industrial and/or Civils projects, ideally including RC works, earthworks, and underground services.
* Experience delivering projects valued between £3m – £25m, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently when required.
