Contract Type: Fixed Term (two years)

Salary: £15,354.00 per annum

Main Purpose of the Role:
This apprenticeship position supports the Health & Safety Manager with administrative tasks that contribute to managing health, safety, and environmental processes across the site. It also provides exposure to areas such as Quality, Strategy, Planning & Development, and Continuous Improvement, offering a comprehensive introduction to manufacturing operations.

The apprentice will gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment and work towards a nationally recognized qualification in Business Administration.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide administrative support to the Health & Safety Manager, including record-keeping, report compilation, and action tracking.
* Manage document control for policies, procedures, and safety communications.
* Maintain and update Health & Safety training records and assist with scheduling training.
* Log and monitor incidents, near misses, and follow-up actions using internal systems.
* Participate in safety briefings, toolbox talks, and engagement activities.
* Support the Quality, Strategy, Planning & Development, and Continuous Improvement teams as needed.
* Contribute to projects aimed at improving workplace safety.
* Complete on-the-job and off-the-job learning for the apprenticeship qualification.

Qualifications and Skills:

* 5 GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above), including Maths and English.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
* Willingness to learn and pursue a formal qualification.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Interest in Health & Safety or manufacturing operations.
* Previous work or voluntary experience in an office or industrial environment.
* Familiarity with CAD, Google Classroom, or similar systems.

Training Schedule:

* Year 1: 4 days on-site, 1 day at college (NVQ Level 2 Business Administration).
* Year 2: 4 days on-site, 1 day at college (NVQ Level 3 Business Administration).

Potential to pursue industry-recognized Health & Safety qualifications such as IOSH or NEBOSH.
