HGV Class 2 Drainage Engineer Rainham, Essex We are recruiting experienced HGV Class 2 Drainage Engineers to join a growing drainage and utilities team working across commercial, domestic, and water authority contracts.This is a hands-on, field-based role operating specialist jetting and vacuum equipment, supporting drainage maintenance and repair works across the network.Key Responsibilities Operate, maintain, and service Jet Vac (Combi Unit) equipment in line with manufacturer service manualsDrive and operate an HGV Class 2 Combi / Jetting vehicle safely and efficientlyCarry out high-pressure water jetting and vacuum excavation workClean and maintain drainage systems including: Sewers and pipeworkInterceptorsWet wellsWork in and around confined spaces in accordance with safety proceduresEnsure full compliance with RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements) and site safety rulesComplete all required waste documentation and duty-of-care paperworkCommunicate effectively with clients, site teams, and line managersWork flexibly, including overtime and working away from home during the weekHealth & Safety Responsibilities Strict adherence to RAMS documentation on all sitesSafe operation of high-pressure water jetting and vacuum systemsCompliance with environmental waste handling regulationsWorking safely in confined or high-risk environmentsQualifications & Experience Essential: Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licenceValid Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)Proven experience in drainage and jetting operationsStrong understanding of safe systems of work and RAMS complianceFull clean UK driving licenceRight to work in the UKDesirable: Streetworks qualificationHigh Pressure Water Jetting (HPWJ) certificationConfined Space trainingFirst Aid qualificationSkills Required Ability to operate specialist drainage equipment confidentlyGood communication skills (verbal and written)Strong awareness of health & safety proceduresWillingness to carry out physically demanding outdoor workFlexibility to work overtime and away from home when requiredPay & Benefits £40,000 £45,000 per year (basic salary)Enhanced overtime ratesRegular overtime opportunities availableStable, long-term role within a growing teamTPBN1_UKTJ
