We are implementing an organisational change programme and have recently launched our Housing Plan 2025-30 which sets out ambitious actions for housing over the next 5 years. We are now looking for an enthusiastic Rough Sleeper Co-ordinator to join our high performing housing options and homelessness team tasked with making a real difference supporting families and individuals at risk of homelessness. About the Role The postholder will report to the Homelessness Response Manager. They will be responsible for working with relevant internal and external partners and agencies to co-ordinate and have oversight of the delivery of the Council s initiatives designed to reduce rough sleeping including the commissioning and contract management of all providers. You will be an integral part of the homelessness response team, consisting of approximately 20-25 staff members who manage the complete spectrum of housing options and homelessness services, including housing allocations and the commissioning of housing support. This is a high-achieving team with a relatively low number of households in temporary accommodation, which is a testament to their great work. This is a full time role, 37 hours per week, permanent contract. The post holder primary workplace is the Civic Centre, Keynsham. However, alternative workplaces, including home based working, can also be used with the agreement of the manager. About You You will have: An in-depth knowledge of housing and homelessness legislation and experience in providing or commissioning frontline housing support services. A Degree and/or a relevant specialist Housing qualification or equivalent experience. Excellent communication skills in all forms with the ability to influence, use empathy to understand complex situations, and to advise others. Be capable of performing efficiently and effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment, handling challenging client behaviours with composure, integrity, and effectiveness. An appreciation of the impact of trauma, psychologically informed environments and how we can shape our services to improve outcomes for individuals.
