Are you ready to cultivate success at the intersection of finance and agriculture? A leading family-owned agricultural powerhouse is seeking a dynamic Senior Controller to nurture its financial growth and operational excellence.
Your Role as Senior Controller
As the Senior Controller, you will manage and coordinate the operations of our multi-entity agribusiness. Your expertise will be the cornerstone of continued success, impacting every aspect of the company.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all accounting operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and audits.
* Oversee cost accounting for processing and production, ensuring accurate tracking of raw materials, labor, and overhead costs.
* Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets, ensure compliance with industry regulations, and ensure all transactions are complete and properly recorded.
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis, and commentaries for multiple entities involved in farming, plant management, and corporate leadership
* Analyze financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational efficiency in processing and distribution.
* Manage inventory valuation and costing, work-in-progress, and finished products
* Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions
* Collaborate with plant managers to develop budgets and forecasts for production and distribution activities
* Maintain loan agreements and covenants associated with the company’s outside lenders.
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and industry-specific accounting standards
* Work with the outside tax professional to ensure that returns for multiple entities are timely filed and that appropriate accrual vs. tax entries are produced.
Your Expertise
* We’re looking for a seasoned professional with:15+ years of accounting experience, including 5+ years in manufacturing
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and inventory management in food production
* Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
* Experience with agricultural-specific accounting software (e.g., Famous)
* A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (CPA preferred)

* Develop relationships with outside agencies, our outside CPA, and our Attorney Trustee
