National Account Manager – Grocery
Home-Based (with regular UK site visits)
£50,000–£55,000 + 20% bonus + Car/Allowance + Benefits
A leading European food manufacturer, supplying innovative chilled and frozen products across major UK retailers, is seeking a talented National Account Manager to join its growing commercial team. The business partners with all major grocery multiples and operates multiple manufacturing sites across the UK and Europe.
You will be responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of key grocery retail accounts, delivering profitable growth, and acting as the primary commercial contact for your customers. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious NAE/Junior NAM seeking a step up, or an established NAM looking to broaden their customer exposure with a dynamic, fast-paced food manufacturer.
The Role
* Own and develop a portfolio of major UK grocery customers
* Deliver sales, margin and profitability targets
* Build strong, collaborative customer relationships, ensuring long-term partnerships
* Develop and implement customer account plans aligned to commercial strategy
* Forecast, report and monitor account performance accurately
* Lead customer negotiations, agreeing sustainable and mutually beneficial commercial terms
* Work cross-functionally with NPD, Supply Chain, Finance, Technical and Operations teams
* Identify and activate new business opportunities within existing and target customers
About You
* Experience managing national retail accounts (or supporting them at NAE/Junior NAM level)
* Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
* Ability to analyse and interpret data to inform decision-making
* Collaborative, influential and able to build trust quickly
* Confident working cross-functionally in a fast-moving environment
* Experience within food manufacturing, ideally with exposure to private label
