Job Description
Bank Community Support Worker Liverpool (Mill Street) Salary: up to £13.00 per hour
Working in brain injury rehabilitation is different from other kinds of support work. You’re there to encourage and guide individuals, helping them gain the skills and confidence to live independently. You will share the journey with these inspiring people as they overcome hurdles, achieve milestones, and reach their goals. Many of the people we support stay for around three months before they are ready to move on. You can make a significant difference in that time.
Why join us?
Brainkind is a charity dedicated to improving the lives of people with brain injuries in the UK. Our assessment centres, rehabilitation units, and hospitals use expert neurorehabilitation to support people in regaining lost skills. We treat a range of brain injuries caused by trauma, illness, substance abuse, and more, helping individuals recover and meet their personal goals. Our employees are passionate about their work, and you'll find a strong team spirit across our services with colleagues who support each other.
The Role
Mill Street, opened in Spring 2021, is a purpose-built supported living service for people with acquired brain injury, physical disabilities, and/or sensory impairment. It offers 13 self-contained flats. The service is managed by a Registered Service Manager, Nicola, who leads a team of Team Leaders and Support Workers to deliver high-quality support. The role is varied, involving organizing and participating in different activities. You’ll gain job satisfaction from helping residents do more for themselves and live the life they want. We support your career development along the way.
About you
We’re not looking for specific experience. Your personality and values are what matter. We can train you to become a great support worker if you:
* Have genuine empathy for residents, with positivity, patience, and resilience
* Enjoy teamwork and pride in your work
* Have excellent face-to-face communication skills and good literacy
* Manage your time well and prioritize tasks
Rewards
* A competitive rate of up to £13.00 per hour
* Access to our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
* Excellent training and support
* Group life assurance
* Eye voucher scheme
* Long service and staff awards
* Free parking
* Nationwide staff discounts on eating out and shopping
* Blue Light Card discounts for NHS, emergency services, social care, and armed forces
We prioritize employee wellbeing and support, ensuring you feel at your best. Career development is important to us, and we will provide all necessary training and learning opportunities.
