Join a leading specialist engineering company delivering sustainable water and wastewater treatment solutions, providing design, fabrication, installation, and ongoing maintenance services. It serves municipal and industrial clients, applying innovative and efficient technologies to enhance water quality, ensure regulatory compliance, and support environmental sustainability across diverse projects and operational environments.
Due to a rapidly increasing project workload, our client requires an experienced contract Design Engineer proficient in SOLIDWORKS to support the standardisation and configuration of their product range. Your primary objective will be to streamline existing 3D assets to ensure the design office can keep pace with manufacturing demands.
Responsibilities, but are not limited to

* Navigating and optimising large, complex 3D assemblies to ensure system stability and design accuracy
* Producing comprehensive, "fabrication-ready" 2D drawings, including Weldments, cut lists, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
* Auditing and refining existing 3D models to ensure all "slightly different" variances are captured within a master library
* Working closely with the in-house fabrication team to ensure designs are optimised for DfMA (Design for Manufacture and Assembly)
Experiences required
* High proficiency in SOLIDWORKS is essential, specifically with Configurations, Design Tables, and Equations
* Previous experience in water/wastewater treatment, process engineering, or heavy mechanical fabrication
* A proven track record of managing large-scale assemblies without compromising software performance
* A strong understanding of metal fabrication processes, including welding symbols and sheet metal work
