Offer description

Signpost patients to the most appropriate service depending on theirneeds. Educate patients about the range of specialist services availablelocally and directing patients to the right care more quickly both inside andoutside primary care.Support clinicians in clinical administrate tasks such as correspondencemanagement, referrals, communicating with hospitals and other externalorganisations.


Main duties of the job

The followinglist is a summary of job responsibilities.

Reception

greetingpatients in a friendly manner

showpatients how to use check in screens

handlingrepeat prescription requests and collections

consultingwith members of the practice team about waiting area (delays etc)

Telephonetriage /appointments

haveworking knowledge of telephone system, during and after hours

fillin the telephone triage template

triagingand booking into appropriate appointments with clinicians

signpostingpatients to relevant services both internally and externally

Clinical

checkingblood pressure/height/weight

recordingnew pregnancies

beable to chaperone

Helpreduce demand by working on a list of high service users to help and supportthem by contacting them on a regular basis instead of them contacting us.

Other tasks

Opening/closing the practice

Anyother tasks allocated by managers

Qualifications

* GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths


Experience

* Experience in customer service
* Experience working under pressure
