Job Overview
This is a bank contract with variable hours up to 20 per month, covering holidays and sickness, including weekends and weekdays as needed. The role involves contributing to high standards of animal welfare through animal husbandry duties, tailored to meet the needs of various animals within the collection.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintain animal records and ensure high standards of health, hygiene, and welfare.
2. Perform routine husbandry duties such as cleaning, feeding, providing water, administering medication, health checks, and monitoring animal behavior.
3. Ensure safe waste disposal and environmental cleanliness.
4. Report on stock supplies, health issues, vet visits, and maintenance needs.
5. Communicate with external agencies like vets and make welfare decisions as necessary.
6. Purchase and transport animal food locally.
Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications
* Level 2 or above in Animal Care with good grades.
* Level 2 in English and Maths.
* Up-to-date sector knowledge and health & safety compliance specific to Animal Care.
