Purpose of the Job
The post will provide research support to a programme of work being implemented by the Public Health Collaborating Unit, a Public Health/Academic collaborative funded by Public Health Wales. The post holder will be part of the School of Health at Bangor University, based in their academic offices in Wrexham.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Support the research team in the collection and analysis of qualitative data, including organising and conducting semi‑structured interviews, obtaining consent, data management, coding and analysis, and preparing research outputs.
* Support the research team in the analysis of quantitative data, including data management, coding, analyses, and preparing tables and figures for research outputs.
* Contribute to evidence reviews, including study selection, data extraction, and quality assessment.
* Assist in the development of research outputs, such as reports and journal publications, and help prepare materials for presentation at conferences.
* Support project administration, including arranging meetings, coordinating data collection, circulating information, and preparing reports for funders.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
* Participate in performance review and developmental activities.

Person Specification
* Qualifications/Training (Essential)
o Postgraduate (Masters) degree with a strong research component in a health, public health, psychology or sociology subject.
* Experience/Knowledge (Essential)
o Experience with qualitative research and quantitative data analysis techniques.
o Experience working in applied public health research.
o Experience conducting systematic literature reviews.
o Understanding of research and information governance processes, policies and procedures.
o Knowledge and interest in specific areas related to the post.
* Skills/Abilities (Essential)
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
o Proficiency with research software (e.g., SPSS, R, NVivo).
o Strong qualitative and quantitative data analysis skills.
o Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
o Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Skills/Abilities (Desirable)
o Critical appraisal skills.
o Attention to detail and proofreading skills.

o Ability to work flexible hours and travel across Wales for data collection.
