As a result of our successes, we are continuing to expand—and we’re looking for a skilled Arboriculture Consultant to join our expanding environmental team.
What does a day in the life of an Arboriculture Consultant look like?
You’ll conduct tree surveys, produce high-quality reports, and advise clients on arboricultural constraints and opportunities in line with BS5837 and other relevant standards. You’ll play a key role in supporting planning applications and development projects across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake BS5837 tree surveys and produce Arboricultural Impact Assessments (AIA), Method Statements (AMS), and Tree Protection Plans (TPP)
* Advise clients on tree-related planning constraints and mitigation strategies
* Collaborate with ecologists and planners to deliver integrated environmental solutions
* Maintain clear communication with clients and project managers
* Travel to sites across the UK as required
* Attend site meetings with clients, tree officers, and other stakeholders in an arboricultural clerk of works capacity
* Carry out supervision of works where required, to ensure compliance with arboricultural method statements
* Keep records of meetings and submit to Local Planning Authorities as required
* Degree or diploma in Arboriculture, Forestry, or related field (preferred but not essential)
* Proficient in BS5837 surveys and report writing
* Familiarity with tree survey tools
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
* Membership of Arboricultural Association or similar professional body (desirable)
* LANTRA or NPTC qualifications (desirable)
* Experience with drone data or aerial inspection (training provided if needed)
