We have a rare opportunity for a Revenue and Development Manager to join our brand-new and ambitious commercial team, driving revenue that directly supports public services. You will lead the growth of Transport for West Midlands' non-ticketing income, transforming commercial opportunities into sustainable revenue streams that deliver tangible value for the organisation and the communities we serve. From developing new ways to generate revenue at our bus stations through to growing existing CCTV monitoring and drone piloting services; you will play a pivotal role in generating income that can be reinvested into the region.
This is a highly visible role for a commercially astute and results-driven professional who thrives on building relationships, influencing stakeholders, and turning ideas into measurable outcomes. You'll attend industry events, represent the organisation externally, develop a strong pipeline of opportunities, and use data and forecasting to drive informed decision-making. With accountability for revenue targets and commercial performance, you'll have the opportunity to shape strategy while delivering real results.
We're looking for someone with a strong sales, business development, or partnership background, a broad professional network, and the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders across both the public and private sectors. If you're excited by the challenge of building something new, enjoy identifying commercial opportunities, and want to make a lasting impact on the future of the West Midlands, we'd love to hear from you. This is a 2‑year fixed term contract.
The location for this role is 16 Summer Lane with at least 3 days a week spent in the office or on site visits.
We advertise salary ranges, with new appointments typically starting at the lowest salary point. In exceptional cases, the salary point may be adjusted to secure the best candidate. This approach allows for potential year‑on‑year salary increases, offering progression and appropriate rewards to employees. Requests for salaries above the maximum advertised range will not be considered.

We are a Disability Confident Employer with ‘Leader’ status, committed to interviewing applicants with disabilities who meet all the essential role criteria. We are also proud to be a Ban the Box employer, which means we do not ask about criminal convictions at the initial application stage, and will only ask after an offer is made as part of our onboarding checks, which helps us remove barriers for people with past convictions and supporting fair opportunities for all. We value potential and encourage applicants to highlight their skills, including transferable ones, even if they don't fit the traditional “perfect candidate” mould. We gladly consider part‑time, flexible, and job share arrangements, so please don't let these factors deter you from applying.
