We are looking to recruit a full-time consultant psychiatrist in older adult mental health. The post has become available due to the retirement and relocation of two adjacent part-time consultant posts. This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Older Adult Community Mental Health Team (CMHT).
The successful candidate will take part in the multi-disciplinary management of community referrals for those with both functional and organic illness. The successful candidate would also have dedicated time to help shape the strategic developments within the care group across Dorset. There is a strong leadership structure across the organisation with the opportunity for regular input into leadership meetings and developments. The catchment area is rural mid Dorset in the Blandford & Wimborne areas. There is good opportunity for peer support and robust cross-cover.
We offer a recruitment and retention payment of £10,000 to be paid in monthly instalments for the first year of employment. The post holder may take part in the consultant on-call rota remunerated at 3% plus 0.75 APA. The post also attracts 10 days per year of study leave and an annual study leave budget of up to £1,000.
Candidates for Consultant posts must also be on the GMC Specialist Register (including via CESR/European Community Rights) or will have a CCT/CESR(CP) date within 6 months of interview. Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
