Job Overview
Health care support worker to join the Venesection service at QMH CIU day unit (8am-4pm Monday-Friday). The role involves direct patient care for patients with Haemochromatosis and associated administrative duties within the service.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform venepuncture and cannulation procedures.
* Provide direct patient care and support patients undergoing treatment for Haemochromatosis.
* Handle administrative tasks related to the Venesection service.
* Work collaboratively within a small, adaptable team.
Qualifications
* Experience working within an acute setting.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficient venepuncture and cannulation skills.
* Genuine desire to work within the specialty.
Requirements
* Must become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
* Must have right to work in the United Kingdom.
* Legal requirement to demonstrate permission to work in the UK via UK Visa and Immigration Service.
* Pre‑employment checks by NHS Scotland Boards will verify entitlement to work in the UK.
