Overview
We're hiring a Dental Ceramist to join a busy Crown & Bridge team producing high-end aesthetic restorations. This role is focused on porcelain build-up, layering, staining, glazing, and finishing to deliver natural shade matching, lifelike anatomy, and consistent quality across fixed prosthetics.
Key Responsibilities
Porcelain build-up and layering for crowns and bridges to a high aesthetic standard
Stain, glaze, characterise, and contour restorations to achieve natural translucency and anatomy.
Shade matching, including working from shade guides, photos, and clinician instructions
Final finishing and quality checks for margins, contacts, occlusion, and surface texture
Work closely with CAD/CAM and metal/zirconia teams to ensure frameworks support ideal aesthetics
Manage cases from receipt through completion, keeping quality high to tight turnaround times
Identify and reduce remakes through strong QC and clear communication on prescriptions and shades
Maintain a clean, organised ceramic workspace and care for tools/equipment
What You'll Work With
Porcelain layering on zirconia and/or PFM frameworks (depending on lab workflow)
Staining and glazing systems for full contour zirconia and ceramic cases
Articulators and model work where relevant
Digital case support (reviewing scans, photos, and design intent) as needed
Required Experience and Skills
Proven experience as a Dental Ceramist within Crown & Bridge
Strong porcelain layering skills with attention to anatomy, texture, and translucency
Excellent shade matching and aesthetic judgement
Solid understanding of occlusion, contacts, and marginal integrity
Consistent, quality-first approach with the ability to hit deadlines
Good communication and teamworking in a production lab environment
Desirable
Experience with implant crowns, veneers, and complex bridge aesthetics
Comfort working from digital impressions and photo-based shade workflows
Experience with multiple ceramic systems and materials (zirconia, e.max, PFM)
Working Hours
Full-time, Monday to Friday
Optional overtime depending on workload
