Job Summary: The Care Support Worker is committed to providing high-quality, compassionate, and person-centered care to a diverse range of clients within their own homes. This role specifically supports older adults and individuals with learning disabilities, playing a crucial role in promoting their independence, dignity, and well-being.


Responsibilities

* Personal Care & Support: Provide clients with person-centered care and enable them to live independently while in their own homes. This includes a personal care and household management programme that is personalised for each service user as a care plan.
* Assist clients with daily personal care activities such as washing, dressing, and grooming while ensuring dignity and comfort.
* Ensure the safe delivery of the service in line with legislative requirements and company policy and procedures.
* Provide healthcare support, including assisting clients in taking prescribed medication and observing any health changes.
* Assist with meal preparation, catering to individual dietary needs and preferences.
* Household Assistance: Perform light housekeeping duties like laundry, cleaning, and maintaining a safe and tidy living environment.
* Help with shopping and errands, promoting clients’ independence.
* Emotional and Social Support: Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' mental and social well-being.
* Develop and maintain strong, trustful relationships with clients and their families.
* Follow the care plan personalised for each service user.
* Understand and monitor health and safety in the field. Understand and monitor infection prevention and control.
* Maintain full and accurate records and reporting systems in accordance with legal requirements and ensure the effective running of the service.
* Be prepared to work flexibly to ensure the safe delivery of the service.
* Assist the direct line manager with administrative, HR, coordination, and welfare tasks as needed; provide a good service to customers.
* Promote the rights of each customer and keep their wishes at the center of their care and support.
* Apply excellent communication skills with customers, their families and representatives, staff and other health and social care professionals to deliver high quality homecare services.
* Record Keeping & Compliance: Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring all care activities are documented in accordance with care policies and regulatory standards.
* Uphold confidentiality and safeguarding protocols.
* Keep all information about customers and their families secure and confidential.
* Training & Development: Undertake continuous training to keep up to date with best practice and changes in company policy; apply learned knowledge to day-to-day care delivery, promoting the dignity and rights of each client.
* Undertake training and development to stay current with the law, best practice, and changes in company policy, applying this knowledge to day-to-day delivery of care.


Essential Skills & Attributes

* Genuine passion for caring and making a positive impact on clients’ lives.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Reliability, patience, and empathy in all interactions with clients.
* Understanding of confidentiality and professionalism in a care setting.


Desirable Skills

* Previous experience in care or support work (not essential; full training provided).
* Knowledge of health and safety practices in care.
* A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
