The team gets involved in a diverse range of international and domestic transactional and advisory work and is recognised as performing a strategically significant role within the firm. Much of the work is generated by the London office (which is the largest office in the firm), but the team also receives a regular stream of work from its overseas (and, in particular, US) offices.
We are looking for someone to help service that wide range of work and to develop business further. The person must have a background in private practice, with significant tax experience of corporate and ideally finance and real estate matters. International tax experience would also be beneficial.
Candidates must have strong technical and communication skills and be enthusiastic, hardworking and a team player. They must also have the necessary skills to be able to develop a rapport with colleagues in other teams and build their own profile within the firm.
The successful candidate will be involved in complex and high-profile work within an experienced team that prides itself on being friendly and supportive. They will be joining a small but close-knit team of 2 partners, 1 counsel, 1 senior associate and 1 junior associate. They will be a valued and valuable member of that team, with responsibility from the start on a variety of matters as well as guidance and mentorship from more senior colleagues. The team is highly invested in training and professional development, ensuring the successful candidate will have ample opportunities for continued learning.
* A tax lawyer of 2-4 years' PQE
* Ability to demonstrate a high degree of commercial awareness
* Excellent written communication and drafting skills
* Self-confident, proactive, pragmatic approach to tasks and projects
* Highly enthusiastic and self-motivated
* The ability to interact and build relationships with people at all levels
* Ability to work well in both a team and individually
