Principal Systems Engineer

Location: Milton Keynes - Hybrid (up to 2 days remote per week)
T2M Resourcing is working with a growing technology and manufacturing business to recruit a Principal Systems Engineer. This role involves leading systems requirements, design, architecture, testing, and overall V-Cycle activities.
As a Principal Systems Engineer, you will specialize in managing systems activities and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams in software and hardware development.
Responsibilities
* Lead systems activities across the V-Cycle alongside multi-disciplinary teams.
* Develop and manage requirements from product conception to delivery.
* Conduct functional safety activities in accordance with ISO26262 standards.
* Create test cases and plans in collaboration with Software Test Engineers.
* Design system architecture using SysML.
* Mentor and lead engineers during technical projects.
* Perform and oversee systems tasks such as FMEA, HAZOP, and HARA.
* Support the software team in developing models using Simulink/Matlab.
Candidate Requirements
* Degree in Systems Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
* Ability to lead by example.
* Knowledge of Functional Safety and ISO26262 standards.
* Experience with testing methods such as Software-in-the-Loop and Hardware-in-the-Loop.
* Expertise in model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
* Excellent communication skills.
* Experience with automotive or aerospace systems engineering processes.
* Proficiency with hardware, systems, and software development tools including SysML, MATLAB/Simulink, Embedded Coders, and DOORS.
* Strong problem-solving skills.
This role is based in Milton Keynes and offers a hybrid working arrangement, with up to 2 days per week working from home.
