Senior Paid Social Manager – Google (B2C Lead Generation)

Salary – Up to £60k

Hybrid – 1 day remote working

The Opportunity

Lead Google Ads end‑to‑end for B2C lead generation, with a strong emphasis on YouTube (Video Action, Demand Gen, Shorts). You’ll scale spend aggressively and responsibly across Search and YouTube, run a disciplined testing programme, and turn performance data into clear creative guidance for our in‑house team/agency. Your focus is strategy, scale, execution and insights—no video editing required; not an e‑commerce/Shopping role.

Also known as: Senior Google Ads Specialist, Paid Search & YouTube Manager, Performance Marketing Manager (Google & YouTube).


What You’ll Do

* Own Google strategy & execution (Search + YouTube) to hit lead volume, CPL and payback targets on £1m+ monthly budgets.
* YouTube excellence: plan and optimise Video Action/Demand Gen, audience signals, sequencing, frequency and brand‑safety; provide creative insights (hooks, opening 5 seconds, message/order, end‑cards, CTA) to the creative team — no editing responsibilities.
* Search performance management: robust account architecture, brand vs non‑brand guardrails, RSA best practice, query mapping and SQR hygiene, bidding (tCPA/tROAS) and budget pacing.
* Improve lead quality: implement Enhanced Conversions, Consent Mode, and offline conversion imports (MQL/SQL) to optimise beyond raw form fills.
* Experimentation: run weekly test sprints (audiences, bids, ads, LPs), maintain a learnings library and refresh cadence across Search and YouTube.
* Partner for performance:
o with CRO on ad‑to‑landing‑page congruence and LP test grid;
o with CRM on capture fields, scoring and downstream feedback to Google (offline conversions).
* Report & forecast: weekly with clear test read‑outs, decisions and change‑log; keep forecast vs actual within ±10%.


What You’ll Bring

* 6+ years in paid media with 3+ years hands‑on Google Ads, including YouTube; experience scaling £500k–£1m+ per month while meeting CPL/CAC targets.
* Proven YouTube performance playbook (audience signals, sequencing, frequency, brand suitability) and examples where your insights shaped creative and moved the numbers.
* Strong Search fundamentals: query→LP mapping, RSA asset strategy, negatives and structure that scales.
* Practical tracking competence: Enhanced Conversions, Consent Mode, offline conversion imports (GCLID/gbraid/wbraid), naming/taxonomy discipline; confident with GA4.
* Analytical judgement reading VTR/CPV, CTR, CVR and lead quality into clear actions.
* Excellent collaboration and communication skills; comfortable briefing in‑house creatives or agencies and mentoring an Executive as the team grows.


Nice to have

* Looker/BigQuery literacy; incremental lift testing (Brand Lift/geo‑tests); basic storyboard skills for briefing; DV360 exposure (not required).


Not required

* video editing; e‑commerce/Shopping feed management.


What Success Looks Like (first 6 months)

* CPL/CAC at or below target; qualified lead rate trending up via CRM feedback loops and offline conversions.
* YouTube contributing reliable, scalable lead volume with improving VTR/CPV and downstream CVR; sequenced ads and frequency under control.
* Search structure bedded in: SQR hygiene, RSA asset coverage, and stable pacing at scale.
* 8–12 insight‑driven creative recommendations delivered to the video team each week; playbook and refresh cadence in place.
* Documented SOPs, naming conventions and test register adopted by the wider team.
