Graduate Civil Engineer - Highways (Birmingham) at Jacobs. Join the Jacobs Graduate Development Programme (GDP) to develop across four focus areas: human skills, consulting skills, championing our strategy, and your technical passions. The GDP is a structured two-year scheme with blended learning, mentoring, progress reviews and networking, designed to support you at the start of your Jacobs career journey.
Responsibilities
* Support delivery on highway projects as part of the Highways & Civils team in Birmingham.
* Assist in feasibility studies, scheme reports, and highway designs as part of your development toward becoming a professionally qualified engineer.
* Receive on-the-job training using the latest software tools and gain exposure to schemes from initial concept through to construction.
* Collaborate with your manager and mentor to identify learning experiences that are meaningful for you.
Qualifications
* Be working towards a Masters level qualification in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering with Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering with AI or Civil Engineering with Data.
* A flexible self-starter who is keen to drive your career forward.
* Adaptable to change, with a thirst for learning new things.
* You must have the permanent right to work in the UK.
Program details
Location: Birmingham office. Start date: September 2026. The GDP is an experience programme where much of what you learn will be on-the-job, with structured on-the-job experiences and mentoring to support your development.
